Punch Punch Revolution (PPR)

The Punch Punch Revolution System (PPRS), a play on Dance Dance Revolution, was a project a team of us students worked on for the Capstone Design Project (final-year engineering project) at the University of Alberta.

                           Initial Concept

It was one of my favourite projects, one that we took from concept all the way to completed prototype.  (See below)

It works wirelessly with the Xbox 360 (DDR Universe used as the main game, though we did use Jawbreaker and Fight Night Round 3 as demos too), and has an LCD screen and user interface for the player to set the necessary strength he/she has to use for the punching bag to send a button press to the Xbox 360.

I’ll put up a video here some other time with the completed prototype, which eventually led us to the Western and Canadian Engineering Competitions (under Innovative Design). ¬†Probably drop the specs here too :)
